AMYLA provides wraparound youth services for youth ages 13-18 in Washington, DC, primarily focusing on developing youth leadership in 3 leadership tiers:
Leadership in the Classroom – AMYLA’s programs, staff and volunteers all support our youth and their families in achieving their full academic potential by providing the necessary academic and social support, positive reinforcement with their self-selected Community Support Team (CST) and by working with families to ensure that each of our youth are placed in the academic setting that “best match” their individual academic needs and ultimately supports our youth through the college/post-secondary education enrollment processes.
Leadership in the Community – AMYLA encourages each of our youth to be community leaders. Through their participation in our community service projects, programs, national and international expeditionary programs, AMYLA youth are equipped with the necessary education, resources and experiences as they transition into a character and service-laden adulthood.
Leadership in the Workforce – Through AMYLA’s strategic community and business partnerships and our network of local, national and international program partners, AMYLA successfully provides our youth with the necessary career exploration opportunities, life skills, trainings and expeditionary experiences that allow our youth to arrive prepared, assertive and progressively into the workforce; employable and capable of both leading and serving.
AMYLA could not exist without your generous contributions. Shaping and transforming the lives of our youth could not be done without your time, generosity and support. Please know that your continued support of our programs is greatly appreciated!
