The Adams Morgan community is home to one of the most unique communities in Washington, DC. As we celebrate and welcome an influx of international and cultural diversity, new retailers, residential and commercial development in our community, it becomes vitally important for us all not to lose sight of the people who this community wide transition impacts the most, the youth and families of Adams Morgan.

Faced with the July 2007 closing of a valuable youth services organization with over 20 years of service in our Adams Morgan community, the need to fill the youth services gap became increasingly clear.

With this passion, activism and energy the Adams Morgan youth and residents, volunteers, political organizations and businesses organized, fundraised and introduced, The Adams Morgan Youth Leadership Academy (AMYLA)!

Through our many programs, partnerships and your continued support, AMYLA is poised to serve a youth services pillar in the Adams Morgan community for many years to come!
